In loving memory of Andy Irons.

Its been a terrible week for me, i lost one of my best mates ANDY IRONS he was one of the most generous loving guys i ever met. over the last 18yrs we have had some amazing times together that i will never forget. the amount of times i talked to him about problems and hard times about me i could never add up, the amount of times i have seen him give away his board bags with 8 boards in the bag is amazing, i used to ask why did u do that A.I and he would reply cause they need it more than me. as simple as that. i was in hawaii 5yrs ago and i was there for christmas andy and bruce know i never really celebrated xmas as i had no one to really share it with, so i would take off to hawaii and just surf. anyway they caught on to this and said your coming to our house for xmas the IRONS house, they took me in like a family and i will never forget it, i had presents and all, i remember when i got to kauai andy and bruce both have separate houses and they both wanted me to stay at there houses, it was hard as they both would argue where i was staying that night, so i ended up staying at bruces house for 1 night. late that night andy come over and woke me and said we going for an early surf so i thought nothing of it, but he said dont wake bruce he likes to sleep in, i thought fine, as were driving i noticed we were not going towards the surf and arrived at andys house i said what we doing A.I to which he replied i lied it aint 5am it 1130pm your staying at my house. another time he said to me out of the blue i know why i love u koby i said why A.I he said cause u not on tour, pro surfers are my enemy. then he stared into my eyes with a look of dont think about coming on tour. i laughed and he stared. i love the way andy would say whatever he wanted at anytime, didnt matter who it was too, you got A.I serving when he thought u were wrong. i love andy and i will miss him for the rest of my life, he was a true friend who was there through thick or thin. i think of the love from his family and friends and the millions world wide that are mourning for him, that would have made andy so proud. so here's to andy.
